Long and Convoluted Similes

Only one side of the object I have constructed is in physical reality. While the object may look tangible, it can only be found inside the photograph. Pairing these objects with a simile creates a space for connecting ideas can seem disconnected at first impression. My choice in content varied in symbols of vices, addictions, femininity, patriotism, patriarchy and injury. These ideas manifest in singular objects which I have recycled to create a new conjoined idea of what those objects can look like to me. Bringing together my hair, an unused razor, a used birth control pill holder and an unused tampon, for example, defines my thoughts on personal femininity while it might redefine what it means to others.
